Twirl and Take a Bow

I can't believe it's Tuesday again!

I have not been around to blog in some time.

You see, there is a very special bridal shower {my brother and future sister in law} coming up, that I am hosting with my mom, so I have been a little pre-occupied.  I am so sorry!

I will be back soon, with some more fun projects.  Until then have fun at the party today...brought to you by Robin!

Happy Spring and a Party!

   Twirl and Take a Bow

By the lovely Brooke from DesignedByBH

Happy Spring, everyone!

It's time for another great week of Twirl & Take a Bow, and this week it's my turn to pick the features!  For those of you that don't know me, my name is Brooke and I blog over at DesignedByBH.

So what's your favorite part about spring?  I know it probably doesn't feel like spring yet for all of you, but it's coming!  Do you plant a garden or flowers?  My husband and I are in our first house, so that's something we get to experience this year--at least at our own home.  He's a professional landscaper so it's nothing new for him!  He has big plans...boulders, flower beds, new mulch...it will be nice once we're he's done!

My favorite part of spring has to be the colors.  It's definitely not the heat.  Being hot makes me grumpy...but the start of baseball, cute dresses, flip flops, pedicures, flowers, and butterflies...those are all a win!  You know what else is a win?  You guys and your projects!  I can't wait to see what you have to link up this week.  In the meantime, here are some of my favorites from last week...

My grandma was a collector.

She collected crafting supplies and cards.

She collected mugs that she proudly displayed on shelves in her living room.

And she also collected quotes.  I wonder if that was her favorite thing to collect.

Most of the cards she sent me would have a quote written in it that fit the day.

She even started a journal of quotes that she collected for me. Anytime she was in a store and she saw a new one, she would write it down in her notebook and then mail me the piece of paper.

Twirl and Take a Bow Link Party

I'm dreaming of these beautiful waters and the rolling green hills of our lake. Right now it is just frozen and gray and cold.

However, something peculiar has been happening over the last couple of days... the sun has been feeling a little warmer and the birds are starting to sing their spring songs.

I am very cautious though....we will probably have more snow. It is just the way things work here in the Adirondacks.

So while I dream of beautiful spring days...

come join our party...

...where the food recipes are yummy, the projects will get your creative juices flowing and the company is amazing.

Today, Leslie is joining us to share some truly fabulous inspiration! I love Tuesdays!

After posting some pictures of my master bedroom, I got a ton of emails asking about my duvet cover.

Where did you get your duvet cover?
Did you make that duvet on your bed?
Who made your bedspread?

If you can believe it....I am the maker of this duvet cover.

Yep. This little semi-city gal turned mountain dweller can sew a mean straight line.

My mom {she rocks} also helped me with this project about 4 summers ago.

All Because of a Desk

{How to Make a Bulletin Board}

Have you ever started a project not realizing that it was going to cause a domino effect?

A few weeks ago, I looked around my son's room and the to-do list started to grow...

paint the walls
make a bulletin board
change the curtains
get a new comforter
put up pictures...

all. because. of. a. desk.

Luck O’ the Irish

While purple is my favorite color, these days I have been leaning more towards green….Kelly green in particular.

I have been using green accents upstairs in our house….my gallery wall, my garage sale lamp, and even little monkey’s desk {that color is called Later Gator by Valspar}.

It just makes me feel so very happy.

And what better time to feature the wonderful, cheerful green ideas than in March for St Patrick's Day! I even put in my interpretation of a pot of gold.

May you all find the leprechaun's riches at the end of the rainbow and enjoy the party!
