Just Say No to Resolutions... Say Yes to Goals

"Whose woods these are I think I now
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow."

The woods are lovely dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

                             ~Robert Frost

That is part of one of my all time favorite poems.

It reminds me to slow down a little and enjoy my surroundings, but to also keep focused on my goals.

We do not make New Year's Resolutions here. Resolutions are always forgotten right around January 13th.  Must be that number 13.

Instead we make goals for our year...

Renovate the kitchen/ mudroom/ half bath

We have been dreaming of a bigger kitchen for years. Now is the time to make a few Miner adjustments to our crowded space.

The boys are growing fast. So I will be playing more this year, trying to soak up all of their innocent goodness before it turns into puberty disappears. {We have a few years before that happens}.
Puppet show, anyone?

Projects, projects, projects

My mind is swimming with ideas...work on my photography, create more gallery walls, redecorate existing walls, reorganize the playroom. I like to mull them over in my head for awhile like a foggy, warm and lovely dream before I make them concrete.  I really should write them down though.

It's not a lot of goals, but attainable goals.
Promises to keep.

I can always sleep later.

What goals do you have this year?

  1. A list of goals should be attainable...if they get too numerous none of them will come to fruition. Just your father sharing his wisdom!! LOL!
