Link Party Time

This past weekend we were all in Chicago for my brother's wedding. We had magnificent weather! Everything and everyone looked so gorgeous. It was a fabulous time. Stay tuned for that post coming later in the week.

For now though why not look at the inspiration that Robin picked for us today.

Remember if you are linking up ... 1 link will be seen on 6 blogs! That is my kind of bargain!

Enjoy!

A Rustic Themed Wedding Shower

Once upon a time a boy met a girl in a physical therapy office…and they hit it off.

There wasn't anything whirlwind about this relationship…it took time, but it became so much more.

5 and a half years to be exact and this weekend... oh the excitement really begins.

You see this boy and this girl….they will say…I do.

And their family will be there cheering them on.

And I will be getting a sister. A sister that I have always wished for and oh how I love my brother’s fiancĂ©!

And they will travel the world and have great adventures.

And they will live happily ever after!

But before they get married…there was a Jack and Jill Wedding Shower....

Twirl and Take a Bow Link Party and a Wedding

Welcome back! We are getting ready to head to Chicago this week for the wedding event of the year....my brother's! And I can't wait to have a sister! I have been asking for one since I was like 8 years old.

Packing has been tricky...is it going to be warm or cold or both? I didn't quite get the suitcase situation as tight as I did for Disney.

Enjoy the party brought to you be the beautiful Brooke from Designed by BH!

When to Plank and When Not to Plank

In January, my husband and I got this great idea to jump on the bandwagon and do the 30 day plank challenge.

To be totally honest, I didn't even know what a plank was, so I Googled it and thought, “I can totally do that.”

Day one - plank for 20 seconds.

So I got down on the floor and up on my elbows and the balls of my feet. Then held the position.

Twirl and Take a Bow Tuesday

Welcome back for another great party! I bet that people are starting to head outside and start working on their gardens or front porches.  My brain is swirling with some new ideas. All I need is the time {don't we all}.
Enjoy the party! Take it away, Leslie!

{Teachers Change Lives}

One of my very first students was a second grade girl named Sarah*.

She was shy. Painfully shy.

I could barely get her to say two words most days, let alone really tell if her reading was improving.

She did the work that I gave her, but oh how she struggled.

As a reading teacher I worked with her for 4 years in a row before she left to go to the middle school; however, I didn't feel I was making a difference in her life.

And much to my despair, I would hear others say that she wasn't very smart, but not do much else in the way of going to college or having a career.

Never once did I give up on her.

Lemonade Invitation and an Apology

The Front Porch Reveal

I'd like to apologize.

You are all my friends and I have let you down. For this, I'm truly sorry.

How have I let you down, you might be asking?

Well, back in April my husband ripped the front steps off the house

I was shocked and thrilled and I got all of you excited about the possibilities too.

Then I teased you with snippets of our progress

I even gave you all our deadline for finishing our few Miner major adjustments…2 weeks.

Those 2 weeks came and went and now it's 4 months later, but still no porch pictures for you.

Easter Inspiration and a Party
{Twirl and Take a Bow}

Here comes Peter Cottontail
hoppin down the bunny trail…

There were so many furniture makeovers and yummy recipes at last week's link up that I was torn between featuring them or Easter crafts.

I think that this week is all about the kids though, so Easter projects it is.

There are still a couple days to do some of these adorable crafts, especially if you are home with the kids for spring break.

Hippity, hoppity
Easter’s on its way.

Enjoy the inspiration, friends!

Things to Do...

Have you ever hiked up a mountain?

I’ll admit, it isn't my favorite activity, but when I get to the summit there is a sense of accomplishment like no other.

At the end of this weekend I looked around my laundry room and I noticed something.

It was like the Mount Everest of dirty laundry in there.

We held a family bridal shower for my brother and his fiance, so there was little time to get down there.

My mom and brother did fold some of our clothes though. I am so thankful for them.

Now I need to get back on track....no more piles of laundry.
