Themed Pins vs. Themed Sweaters

I may have mentioned this before...by day I teach elementary students.

And it seems like there are many themed sweaters out there amongst elementary teachers.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, even Valentines... you name it... I've seen it.

My dad teases that some day, I too, will start wearing these sweaters.

Let the record show...I am here to say...

I will never wear those sweaters.

It just isn't my style.

I will however wear a themed pin.

My sweaters are plain everyday cardigans. My pins are fun and full of the spirit of the day.

How to Make a Valentine’s Heart Pin

Supplies:

Felt Hearts in different sizes {I found them at Joann Fabrics}
Safety Closing Pin
Needle and Thread

Steps:

Match 3 different sized hearts in any color combo that you want.

Pick a contrasting color thread

Sew the pin and the 3 hearts together

There will even be extras…you can make them for all of your teacher or office friends! Maybe they will wear that instead of their themed sweater.

Maybe not. To each his own.
