Chicken Wire Photo Frame

My husband recently built us a raised vegetable garden in our front yard.

He up-cycled old pieces of wood, our wonderful neighbors gave us some dirt that was left over from their front yard project, and we bought some chicken wire to keep the deer out. Then we all went and picked out the fresh, organic veggies....beans, watermelon, strawberries, lettuce, cucumbers.

{Oh, I can't wait to have strawberries and lettuce!}

As Matt was walking around the perimeter of the garden putting up the fence, I noticed that there was going to be left over wire.

The wheels started turning and I knew I would be putting it to good use. So I searched the basement for an unused frame and made a few Miner adjustments

"Lettuce" get to work, shall we?
{Sorry, I couldn't resist!}

What you need:
  • Chicken Wire
  • Frame
  • Wire cutters
  • Staple Gun
  • Nail or 3M Command Strips
  • Clothes pins
Steps:
  • Take the glass and back out of the frame
  • Flip the frame over so you are looking at the back.
  • Fit the wire over the opening.
  • Staple the wire to the frame...I stapled it to the edge that the glass sits on, instead of just the back of the frame.
  • Cut the excess wire off and fold any wire edges down.
  • Hang with a nail or 3M Command Strips and decorate. {I got the mini clothes-pins in the dollar aisle of Target}.
One variation...you could paint the chicken wire and clothes pins for added style.

Now I have a place to display my brother's wedding pictures {they celebrated their first wedding anniversary in May and just had their first baby}.

All I have left to do is wait for my yummy, fresh veggies. What a great way to start the summer!
